Meal Savers
Cookie Policy
Last updated July 2026
Short version: we use the smallest number of cookies we can get away with, and none of them follow you around the internet.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are essential for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used. Similar technologies like local storage work the same way, and this policy covers those too.
2. Strictly necessary
These keep Meal Savers working and can't be switched off from inside the app:
- Your signed-in session, so you stay logged in between pages.
- Security tokens that protect your account and prevent abusive requests.
- Short-lived state during reservation and pickup, such as the bag you're checking out.
3. Preferences
We remember small choices you make — your search area, filters, and whether you dismissed a banner — so the app doesn't ask you the same question every visit. These live in your browser and are never sold.
4. Analytics
We look at aggregate, privacy-respecting usage data (which pages load, which fail) to fix problems and speed the site up. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party ad networks.
5. Cookies set by others
A few trusted providers set their own cookies when you use features that depend on them — for example our payment processor during checkout and our map provider on the map view. Those cookies are governed by their own policies and used only to deliver that feature.
6. Your controls
You're in charge:
- Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its privacy settings.
- Clearing site data signs you out and resets saved preferences.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in, reservations, and pickup from working.
7. Changes and questions
If we add or remove a cookie category, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Questions? Reach us through the Contact page and a human will answer.
